Questions about Sony Vegas Pro 8 Empty Questions about Sony Vegas Pro 8

Post  Aicebo Sun Mar 08, 2009 10:32 pm

I recently got the program. There are some things that I'm confused with on it, though. I'm used to using WMM, since it used to be the only program that I had. My main question is, is it possible to import and select the group of clips you want like on WMM? What I mean is how you can select the whole little section for a movie/file and, once "imported" like on WMM, they will will start and end at random spots? I'm sorry if I'm being confusing. I made a little diagram to show you what I mean:

I only have full videos instead of different scenes in different files/collections. I may have trouble using the full movie clip for trimming/editing each time if that's what I have to do on SVP8. Crying or Very sad

Heyas!! ^^
Well, I'm not really sure if I understood your question, but I'll try to answer anyway.

The difference between Vegas and Movie Maker, when we talk about the project media, is that with Vegas we'll always have to import the movie to the program with we're starting a new project, while on WMM we already have the clips there on the Collections. Also, with Vegas, when we import something, we import the whole file, in other words if you have the full movie, you'll have to find and cut the clips in the Timeline. I had some trouble as well when I started using Vegas because of the same reasons. With WMM we have short clips for us to pick.

But, yea, I don't really know if I have answered your question. If it wasn't that, I'll try again. XD

Thanks, that solved it. Very Happy I have another though, how exactly do I trim on there? When I made a test to test it on I made it on WMM and imported it to Vegas and jus added the effects, because I don't know how to trim on there. :[

It's quite easy really. You just zoom into the scene you want, select the frames by clicking and dragging the mouse over those scenes. Right click, copy and paste onto you're poject!
