Vegas help? Empty Vegas help?

Post  LilyPad157 Thu Feb 26, 2009 5:28 pm

Hey everyone. ^^ So I have Sony Vegas, and well- my problem seems to be that whenever I go to play back what I have just worked on(let's say I added an effect to a clip or something), it tends to freeze up. I know that there's probably not I way to fix this, but I was just wondering if anyone had any tips or tricks to speed this up a little, and not have it freeze up so much. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Very Happy

Well, from the information given, I would say it either some wierd bug in vegas, or you might need abit more computer power. I'm not really sure I can help since I have just started getting deeply into vegas with it's advanced settings and so on. Tell me, is it an old computer you are using? And does it freeze up so bad you need to close the program and restart it again, or is it only for a few seconds and then you can use it?

I'm probably just throwing it out here and wont be any help but, maybe you should try to change the size of your preview window and abit lower quality of it. Maybe it eases it for the computer and It wont freeze up. There's an icon for the preview window settings, and also a tab with different quality options next to it. This is only a guess though.

Well, it's an XP computer, but it has been cleaned out and such. And no, I rarely need to restart my computer. It seems like I'll go to play back what I edited, and the clip and audio will start playing. Then the audio will keep playing, but the clip won't, but it seems like it tends to pick up a few seconds later, than the same thing starts to happen. This occurs normally after I add an effects or something. Then again, this is just a trial of Vegas, but I'm getting the real thing tomorrow as a gift. Could the trial tend to run slower? Because it seems like a possibility to me. And thanks for your advice on the preview window quality, I'll go check it out. ^^
